Paris Hilton gets zip of granddad's $2.3B fortune

A few months ago, the grandfather of seedy heiress Paris Hilton was mumbling in public about cutting the embarrassing party girl out of his will.

Well, he went ahead and did it.

Barron Hilton just announced plans to donate 97% of his $2.3 billion fortune to charity. That chunk of change is going right to his Conrad N. Hilton Foundation.

The foundation does about what you'd expect, making grants in the usual places for the usual things, relieving "the suffering, the distressed and the destitute," as long as the contribution happens to be politically correct and officially tax-deductible.

You can't really be too mad at Barron (unless you're Paris Hilton); he's just following family tradition. Barron's dad stiffed him, too, leaving most of his fortune to charity.

Barron contested the will, and, after ten long years of duking it out for the dough, got his hands on a few billion in 1988. His half-sister Francesca lost her case and got zip.

So, yeah, it's messed up that Barron learned nothing from the drama, and apparently has no problem also screwing over his own family in favor of "charity"; on the other hand, who in their right mind would leave money to Paris Hilton?

Although it's kind of a sad commentary on the disastrous net effect of her vacuous life choices, when it turns out that even her own granddad can't stand her. Sucks to be Paris!
